Itinerary

Day 1 - Johannesburg - Kruger Park. From the Kruger Park gate your Kruger safari takes you northwards towards camp, viewing plenty of game as we drive. Many animals move towards water in the hot afternoon sun, and you’ll see herds of impala and waterbuck on the banks of the waterholes. We continue our open vehicle game drive to our camp for the evening, checking in before gate closing time and allowing you to settle into your chalet for the evening.

Day 2 - Kruger Park. Time to pack our vehicle as we depart from camp and start moving up to the central regions of the Kruger Park. We drive up along the Sabi River hoping to spot a leopard or two coming from the river after a drink, or possibly lions, or other big cats, making their way down to have a drink. Herds of impala can also be spotted along the road or down on the banks of the river. We continue our game drive stopping off for breakfast along the way at one of the picnic areas.

After breakfast we continue our 7 day Kruger safari with a game drive, spotting herds of elephant, zebra and wildebeest, as well as some of our 500 species of birds found in that area. We will stop at camp for lunch before continuing our journey north to our Kruger camp for the evening. We arrive late afternoon for check in and allowing you time to explore the camp and relax before dinner is served in the restaurant.

Day 3 - Kruger Park. Another early morning start before sunrise allowing you time to take some stunning pictures of the sun rising over the African landscape on your 7 day Kruger safari. We make our way out into the park, hoping to still find our cats on the prowl or enjoying a hearty meal after their nights kill. Breakfast can be enjoyed at one of the camps before we return mid-day to our camp for the afternoon. This evening you may enjoy a night drive conducted by National Parks rangers.

Day 4 - Kruger Park. On the fourth morning of your Kruger Park Kruger safari, we make our way back to the central regions of the Kruger Park where we will overnight after our mornings game drive, lunch and then arriving at our camp of choice for check in. Enjoy a swim or a siesta before we depart from camp three hours before gate closing for an afternoon game drive, stopping off at waterholes hoping to come across our rhino taking a mud bath or a herd of elephants enjoying a swim , or our buffalo wallowing along the edges of the waterhole. We return to camp for a shower and dinner. After dinner your guide will discuss the next days activities as we head on back to the game enriched southern section of the Kruger National Park.

Day 5 - Kruger Park. We bid our camp farewell this morning at the break of dawn and slowly continuing on our 7 day Kruger safari, with a game drive to our next camp arriving late afternoon. On completion of check in we will meet for dinner and then discuss plans for the following day.

Day 6 - Kruger Park. This morning you will rise early and depart on a Kruger Park Kruger safari bush walk conducted by one of the National Parks rangers, (subject to weather conditions and availability) If not available we will then depart once again on your open safari vehicle on an early morning drive, stopping off at another one of the many picnic areas in the Kruger National park for breakfast and then continuing on our drive for the rest of the day. If a bush walk is available you will return to camp for a shower and breakfast at the camp before going out on another game drive. We return to camp late afternoon allowing you time to relax before dinner is served in the restaurant.

Day 7 - Kruger Park - Johannesburg. On the final morning of your 7 day Kruger safari, after breakfast at the camp and a short drive or vice – versa, we depart from the Kruger National Park at 10h00 and slowly make our way back to Nelspruit where we change over vehicles and return to Johannesburg late afternoon in order for you to either be dropped at a hotel or guest House of your choice or the Airport.

BEST TRIP EVER! I was very nervous about the whole idea of going on safari. Kruger National Park exceeded my expectations and much of that was down to my experience with Nhongo Safaris, I felt extremely safe and well looked after, Amanda our guide went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Under promise and over achieve she did!

I will be back and will be recommending Nhongo Safari’s to anyone who will listen!
Thank you again, I’d give you more stars if I could!

August, 2019

Our Nhongo Safari focused on seeing and learning about the park's animals and ecosystems. We saw the big five and so much more- a leopard in a tree with a kill, mating lions (interesting), elephants up close, black rhinos, a poached rhino (very sad), hyenas, hippos, giraffes... Our guide Amanda was dedicated and passionate about the park and its animals. Her experience and knowledge as a guide made the trip a once in a lifetime event. We were glad we chose the 7 day safari - there is so much to see. If you want to experience, the wildlife of Africa, Nhongo is a great choice.

Below is a review given by one of our clients on a "Six Day Safari".

We had a 6 days private safari with Nhongo. Our guide was Amanda and she was wanderful. She took care of everything, explain everything and was very knowlageable. We saw leopard and chita and many other animals.
Nhongo also upgrade our stay to ensure we will have wonderful time and we did.
Thank you Amanda and Verity for an unforgettable safari.

So frustrating... I am very very upset about the experience I just had with Nhongo Safaris. Kruger Park is amazing, please go there, it totally worth. I only chose the wrong agency to go with. Nhongo is super well rated however they charged my friends and I quite a lot of money and fit us 3 in a small room, even they had sold us 2 bedrooms. Nobody came to clean our room for the first day. The guide we had was good, can’t complain about him - Clint his name. My main issue was with the Nhongo’s management: Verity. I tried to wire them money before the trip taking place but it didn’t go through once my bank was seeing the wire transfer as potentially a fraud, I offered to pay locally and so Verity agreed with that. Unfortunately once I got there she changed wanted me to pay in cash only (it is a National Park, I couldn’t take 400usd out of a ATM where the daily limit is way lower). She made the chaos in my life, involved me in such an embarrassing situation that I will never forget. Ahe reached out to my friends chasing them for money, she ordered our guide to stop the car in the middle of the jungle until she got the money, pretty much she forced one of my friends to pay it on my behalf without asking me for it. There were 8 people in the pickup truck and everyone was watching the car stopped because of this. I have never felt so embarrassed and frustrated in my whole life. Even I said I could wire from another bank, pay it on a card machine, I offered to go to her office in Johannesburg, I offered plenty of alternative solutions and she made this to me.
Other than that We made good friends, we took awesome pictures, so please go to Kruger Park, just don’t join Nhongo Safaris!
